Sketch books and drawing together

Hi all,

Starzia and I spent some of yesterday drawing together:)
It was so much fun....and I found it just incredible listening to her "arts" language as she drew.
She spoke about adding more detail into her work, about patterns, about colour and about putting more effort into her work and not rushing. (Thats my art teacher talk being regurgitated back to me:))
Then it made me think how much she has actually learnt from me and how ART is such a big part of our lives.
(Well no wonder really!!!!!!!)

Anyway to keep my story flowing....I bought Starzia ANOTHER sketch book the other day and spoke to her about using this one properly. IE not ripping out every single page...but rather it being a story and a progression about her art and her ideas.

These are some of her pages in her art journal.

This is a drawing of Starzia surfing in her bikini's:)

Then a picture of her and I and all our love for each other. I think the animal is her "imaginery/I would like one if I can't have a dog", pet rabbit.

Then the picture of her and her wanted puppy dog!!!! With a pink ribbon in his hair:)

This one was interesting???!!!! It's her picture of a monster. (We have just recently watched Monsters Inc)

Then another picture of the two of us with piggy tails in our hair:)

And another:)
I feel so loved. It's easy to see whats important to her in her little life:)

Then this cute one is Ellie the elephant trying to catch stars:)

And this is Starzia and I in our little car "Alice".

Then we had a birthday party to goto and this was Starzia's card that she drew.
It's Starzia and her friend with butterflies and a flower.
Gorgeous use of colour hey.

Then Starzia saw what I was drawing and liked it. She asked if she could draw the same as me. I said absolutely:)

So this is my love butterfly with flowers....not yet completed......

and this is her version:)

Just gorgeous hey.

I also managed to squeeze in a rough sketch of a whale........

and my carousel horse. I love this one and especially the dappled light of the photo.

Well I hope that you are enjoying being creative as we have been:)

My Tie

Hi all,

A friend recently asked me to make her a tie for her son to wear to a wedding.
He asked for it to be red and orange.
This is what I came up with.........

This is the front of the tie. I had so much fun playing with making it alternative and funky and different.
Hopefully he get lots of comments on this one!!!!!!!

And this is the back!!!!!
I actually gave it to them today and forgot to take a photo.....hence the car/brown paper bag shot taken with my iphone:)

I am looking forward to making more of these. And I must say I love the use of the ribbon for around the neck:)

Let me know what you think.

A change is as good as a holiday

Hi all,

I have been playing around with my blog designs today and learning how it all works.
So you will notice a few differences.

It is not going to stay like this but I need to get back to my painting and sewing.

So there will be a few more changes happening until I get it right:)

Photo shoot #2

Hi all,

Starzia and I had another photo shoot, and we loved it!!!
We had so much fun and Starzia is such a natural model.
See what you think???!!!!

The first outfit is a stunning red and white top for those hot summer days, paired with a gorgeous pair of red shorts.

Starzia made the flower that she is holding in her hand.

Look at this model pose!!!!!
I painted the gorgeous butterfly on her face and she added the jewels:)

A smilie and happy model!!!

I love this photo!!!!!!!!!

A close up showing the red and white ribbon of this halter top.

A serious pose!!!

Then we had a flower girl photo shoot showing off our stunning fairy dress design.

This photo shows the lovely black flower and ribbon detail!!

I absolutely love the headband and I think it sets off the whole 'look" of this piece.

This shows the back of the dress. The ribbon looks great flying behind her as she walks down the steps.

And to add to the flower girl image Starzia carried a sprig of flowers:)

Such a lovely dress on a beautiful girl.

We have so many more designs and exciting clothing to show so please come back and visit:)
And we can't wait for more fun and laughs on our 3rd photo shoot!!!

Perth and back

Hi all,

Well Starzia and I are home again after a flying trip to Perth and back!!!!

While we were there Starzia and I went down to Cottesloe beach to look at the Sculptures by the Sea and go for a much needed swim!!!!

This is Starzia with her trendy sunglasses on!!!!!

This was one sculpture that was people hand-standing and balancing on chairs. Very cool!!!
Starzia said "Mommy this is like going to a gallery but outside at the beach!" She loved it. My budding little artist and art critic:)

And these were blankets in cubes set in the dunes.

Then beautiful white circles blowing in the breeze. Like white butterflies.

Then red plastic shoes in the dunes....leading the way and a lovely bright contrast to the green surrounding bushes/vegetation.!!!!

An stunning pods hanging in the trees. These were made of wire and the white parts are stones. Just gorgeous!!!!!

And we both loved these suspended balls!!!!!!

There was so much variety and so much to look at!! We just loved it.

Some sculptures were so hidden and part of the environment it was such a lovely surprise to "happen" upon them.
Others were gearing and brazen and stuck out, vivid and present in the environment!!!

I am so glad that we were able to see this wonderful display and recommend that if you haven't yet been....to go.

Stunning location, gorgeous idea and amazing works.

It is an afternoon by the sea side that I won't easily forget:)
